We’re proud of our north eastern heritage and for over six decades have been passionate about creating our own selection of the finest quality products. Since 1953, each Dicksons’ recipe has carried our unique signature style – attention to detail, a respect for tradition and a taste for the new.

Over three generations our business has grown to more than 30 shops and we’re now the region’s largest family owned provider of meat and food products.

Where it all began...

1st Generation

Husband & wife, Michael Irwin & Helen Dickson

1953

M I Dickson opens first shop

1950 - 56

Their children Christine, Michael & Dorothy are born

1956

Tom Dickson starts work at Prince Edward Road shop

1960

Fowler Street Shop Opens

1966

Christine takes over the business while Michael learns the butchery side

1970's

Wallsend shop opens

1978

Business celebrates 25th Anniversary

1981

All production moved to first factory

1992

Dicksons move to purpose built factory

2003

Christine & Michael celebrate 50th year of family business

Family council formed
